We Rent Fairly!
We are part of the "Kassel Rents Fairly" initiative – and of course we comply with the General Equal Treatment Act (German abbreviation: AGG).
Our student halls are available to all students at the University of Kassel – regardless of where they come from, what they believe in, what language they speak, what skin color or gender they have, and whom they love.

Our Legal Mandate
By building and operating student halls, we fulfill an important task assigned to us by the Hessian Student Services Act (Hessisches Studierendenwerksgesetz). More information about our responsibilities can be found in §3 of the Act.
Our Housing Policy
Our Housing Policy, which you can read here, regulate who is eligible to live in our student halls and how we allocate the places.
Advance Payments
Before renting a room, apartment, or studio in one of our residences, you must pay a deposit. The deposit is 400 euros for single rooms or apartments and 800 euros for studio apartments.
We do not charge any other advance payments, such as commissions or compensation for furnishings.
Low-barrier Living Space
Some of our student halls have elevators and low-barrier rooms. When new student halls are built or existing ones are renovated, the needs of students with disabilities are also taken into account – you can find out more about this in our Inclusion Action Plan.
Students who require low-barrier living spaces may apply for "hardship cases" and, after an appropriate review, may receive preferential treatment in room allocation. More information on this can be found in our Housing Policy under "Allocation of Accommodation Facilities and Hardship Cases."
